    In line with the University of Edinburgh's Disaster Recovery strategy,
    it is necessary to remove the central Kings' Buildings Router from
    service as part of on going development work in this area. The date of
    this scheduled outage has been chosen to minimise the amount of
    disruption as much as reasonably possible but please note this is a
    major router going out of service to test the Disaster Recovery
    Strategy.
    Please contact myself if this closure presents you with any problems.

    Alert time: 29/12/2003 08:00-13:00

    Services affected: All connectivity to and from Kings Buildings. All
    central services based in Kings Buildings, all connections to and from
    King's Buildings central router. All secondary connections via Kings
    Buildings. Network outage may also cause congestion in other parts of
    the network.
