by air:this website shows cities with direct flights to Edinburgh

by train: Edinburgh Waverley is the main station, Edinburgh Haymarket is approximately the same distance away from the School of Chemistry. Ticketing and route information is available here. It is easiest to get a taxi to Chemistry from either or these, since both have good taxi ranks; the trip normally takes about 10 minutes, and costs ca. £11.

by car: Parking is free on West Mains Road and nearby the main gates to the King's Buildings. From the ringroad (A720), take the A701, which becomes Mayfield Road. Just after entrance gates 3 and 4 on the left is the crossroad junction with West Mains Road. Turn left at these lights, and then left again into gate 2 to reach Chemistry. The RAC's routeplanner is available here.

by bus: The local buses 24, 38 and 41 serve the King's buildings campus.

by public transport in general: this website is good for journey planning.
