The Scottish Borders Repeater Group
SBRG
provides the amateur radio community with three repeaters, GB3SB
and GB3HK at
Lindean, near Selkirk, and GB3BT near Berwick. These cover a large
region of southern Scotland, serving mobile users on three of the main
north-south routes, and also supporting users of low power portable and
fixed 2m and 70cm equipment in the many VHF radio `holes' in the Borders.
Details of the repeaters are as follows.
- GB3SB, 2m R2, output 145.650MHz.
At Lindean, NT501295, IO85ON.
- GB3HK, 70cm RB2, output 433.050MHz, also at Lindean.
- GB3BT, 2m R4, output 145.700. Moved (late 1996) to Lamberton, NW of Berwick-on-Tweed,
NT948583, IO85WT, approximately 215m a.s.l.
Due to a massive increase in charges by NTL, owners of the Lindean
mast, SB and HK closed on 31/3/99. Fortunately, a new site very
close to Lindean has been found, and these repeaters
reopened in May 1999. Coverage
is expected to be less due to reduced antenna height.
The operation of these repeaters is supported entirely by member's
subscriptions.
The group's AGM is normally held on the last Sunday of April (the
weekend before the Kelso rally) ar the Focus Centre, Galashiels,
starting at 1400.
For information you can contact one of the officers, currently:
The memebership subscription is £ 12.50 per year.
