A Slightly Irregular Operation ....



The operation itself, an army CCF 24 hour radio contest, was official enough, but our choice of equipment was not. (For more about this see Brian Carling's CCF radio page. )

From left to right, you can see a T1154 and R1155, as used in Lancaster bombers, and totally obsolete by that time.

In the middle there are two bits of then-current equipment, below the R107 receiver and on top a TX whose number I've forgotten. (If someone recognises it, do please send me the information.)

The hand belongs to George, now G3PLY, who has exposed the innards of a WS19. This is actually the 19HP with a fairly linear amplifier which I think used four 807s in parallel. It was a very effective TVI generator (as was the T1154) but fortunately there weren't so many TVs around at that time.
